Best Mental Health Podcasts

Podcasts are popular now more than ever, and there are so many to choose from. There’s one for every topic and every group of people. Whether you’re looking for one to listen to casually or to gain knowledge, there’s always a wide range of options for you to choose from. Podcasts are a great way to learn more information about certain topics. You can gain a lot of insight from experts and listen to stories from people with similar experiences.

*When you’re looking for a podcast, make sure you do your research. Many podcasts are filled with personal experiences and stories. They may have triggers you may want to avoid, or opinions you don’t agree with.

Here are some of my favorite podcasts I recommend:

Brene Brown

Follow along a research professor who has spent the last two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. She is the host of the two podcasts: Unlocking Us discusses “conversations that unlock the deeply human part of who we are, so that we can live, love, parent, and lead with more courage and heart.” Dare to Lead discusses “conversations with change-catalysts, culture-shifters, and more than a few troublemakers who are innovating, creating, and daring to lead.” Her motto is “courage over comfort”.

Tina Schermer-Sellers

Dr. Tina Schermer-Sellers is a certified sex therapist, marriage and family therapist, and author. She provides education and tools that can “empower you to rise above your sexual shame and embrace your value”. Check out some of her episodes here: Shameless Parenting, Sex After Kids, and Deconstructing Sexuality and the Christian Church, Sexual Ethics.

Time Out: A Fair Play Podcast

Host, and best selling author, Eve Rodsky and Dr. Aditi Nerurkar bring on special guests each episode to discuss a wide variety of topics from boundary setting to beating burnout. They combine science-based solutions with personal experiences as they dive into their conversations.

A Little Less Of A Hot Mess

Kaitlin Soule created this podcast to help moms say yes to their own imperfect personal growth. She brings on guests to have conversations about topics that matter most to you, such as motherhood, career, relationships, overcoming anxiety, and intimacy. Her goal is to help you lead life by your values instead of your fears.

Sex, Love & Addiction

Dr. Rob Weiss brings on experts every week to discuss various topics related to relationships and sex. He is a Ph.D sexologist, an author of 10 books, and is a Chief Clinical Officer for Seeking Integrity Treatment Centers. He dedicates this podcast to bringing information, advice, and direction from experts around the world.
